Cruznolfart
Awesome fast fingers but I tend to agree with the soul-less appraisal. We've heard more soul and feeling in one note from a feeling player, eh?

:oilpit:
I posted something sort of similar to this a while back, it was a buckethead solo. Shredding is lame unless it is done right (Joe Satriani, EVH, RR etc) the rest of that crap is so lame...
NeoConMan
I've always said it's like gymnastics; No, I can't do it. Yes, it is impressive. After I've seen everything you've got (usually in about 15 seconds) I'm ready to go. Unless it's my kid doing it, then I might stay for 10 minutes or so... :-)

iSoto
This can't even qualify as "guitar porn" for me. Ok dude, you have a good sweep picking technique. You can play arpeggios really fast. But that's all. You're neither Jason Becker, nor Richie Kotzen. At least they had some soul and feeling in their playing. You might be able to compete with MAB, who I think is kinda dull, or maybe the DragonForce guys (this video kills me every time I watch it, plus I realize that I'm not the worst guitar player in the whole universe -JUST kidding), but wtv... funny thing I came across this video earlier today and just thought it was pure cr..p. There's also another video by a guy who claim's he's the fastest guitar player in the world or something. All I heard was the typical "I-can-play-fast-blulururururu". Don't get me wrong, I love speed and lightning fast riffs and licks and all that (YJM is one of my guitar heroes), but not like that. Good example for a "What To Avoid In Shredding" guide. One love stars

Homz
Six string equivalent to masturbation. Masturbation has a payoff at the end. That didn't have anything.

James Allen
I happy for the guy, but don't real musicians strive to create something "interesting" as well as technical. It's that desire to be interesting, and to channel our emotions that makes music so damn fun. I'll use an acting analogy. Ever see a movie that have actors that just don't know how to emote? The story may be well written, and the direction may be good, but there is no emotion. That was like a B movie when you don't have anything with real acting in it to really make you feel or think. It was something to watch to pass the time. When I was 18 years old I would have loved it.

retrosurfer1959
Running scales at this kind of speed is probably great hand dexterity and fret placement training. I sure don't get it as music or art though. kind of like going for the title tallest short person or something doesn't hurt anyone I guess but also makes no sense... Thundergod
Does anyone think its good? I don't... I think that sucks and is prety lame... you know, considering the amount of time a guy has to spend practicing to achieve that speed, you would think he'd end figuring out it's more about the feeling and what the solo does in the context of the song. That thing is just noise, and wouldn't amount to nothing on a song context.
