Debonnaire
Michel is a common man’s name in French. It means Michael. Maine borders New Brunswick, Canada’s only fully bilingual province. Many people from Maine share Acadian or French Canadian heritage. Dave F
I doubt if it's worth much more than it's original price but I may be wrong 1979-1980 In 1979, a new sub-budget line of acoustic flat-tops appeared briefy, bearing the "Epi" brand. These guitars were made by the Marina company in Taiwan, in the city of Chaunyin, just outside of Taoyuan. The Epi line of instruments was offered as a "student guitar" and consisted of two folk-body models, two classical models and four dreadnought models, as well as an entry-level banjo. Due to lack of popularity and quality issues, the original Epi line was discontinued by 1980. The retail price was $159.95 for the A-12, and $129.95 for the A-10. Both models were available in "N" (natural) finish only A-12 http://www.epiphonewiki.org/images/thumb/b/b4/EpiA12.jpg/300px-EpiA12.jpg http://www.epiphonewiki.org/skins/common/images/magnify-clip.png Epiphone Epi A-12 http://www.epiphonewiki.org/images/thumb/c/cd/A12headstock.jpg/146px-A12headstock.jpg http://www.epiphonewiki.org/images/thumb/f/f1/A12headBack.jpg/146px-A12headBack.jpg Epi A-12 Headstock Epi A-12 Headstock 1979-1980 Made in Tawain Slim-waisted folk body style Body: Laminated spruce top Bookmatched rosewood back & sides 14.625" body width 3.875" body depth Neck: 1-piece mahogany neck with soft "V" profile Rosewood fingerboard with block inlays 20 frets Black headstock overlay with gold silkscreen "Epi" logo 24.75" scale 1.68" nut width Binding: 7-ply top 5-ply back Multi-ply 3-ring rosette Hardware: Chrome hardware Non-adjustable rosewood bridge Individual stamped tuners Black pickguard Colors: Natural (NA)
runrider
Does anyone know what kind of neck joint and glue are used in these Marina-made Taiwanese Epi guitars? I have an A-10 that I'm willing to put significant time and money into. I'd like to know if the glue can be steamed, and if it has a dovetailed or bolted neck before committing to a repair method. Thanks!
