badbluesplayer
I put some curved pickup rings on my LP and the sustain is like for days. I'll check the guitar this morning and see if it's still ringing -

jdgm
Frankly I am of the "replace pickup springs with flexible tubing and damp unwanted vibration with a spare piece of velcro on side of pickup" school of thought but...... Psstt.....secret tip. Speed knobs get tone faster.
SteveFord
So who is the vendor for these curved Les Paul tone rings? They might be too powerful for a 335 but a Les Paul...

codename
They look flat to me ?
badbluesplayer
20 hours ago, codename said: They look flat to me ? Curved on the bottom so they'll be flat on the top. The stock ones are flat on the bottom so when you install them on the curved top of the guitar, they curl up and the tops aren't flat. Sgt. Pepper
It must not be cost effective to put curved stock ones on at the factory. That may be the new marketing blurb . . . Now comes with curved pickup rings for ionic PAF pickup tone. Edited December 29, 2021 by Sgt. Pepper
Twang Gang
Looks great, and pickups nice and parallel with the strings. Hard to understand how Gibson can make guitars for 130 years or so and not figure this out for themselves. But then again Fender has been putting the pickup selector switch on a tele too close to the knobs for almost 70 years so there's that too. Alfa
Gibson use flat pickup rings on the Les Paul but they are made with Butyrate, It is a soft and unbreakable plastic. Here is a good link : https://www.philadelphialuthiertools.com/mounting-rings/vintage-size-butyrate-m-69-humbucker-mounting-ring-set-vintage-white/
