My wife was one of the 660K+ people who lost their jobs in March, so she's now a statistic. Nearly 30 years in the advertising industry and poof, her and 14 other people from her agency head for the unemplyment line.

Larry, hopefully with your wife's resources and experience, she won't be unemployed for long. Something will come up on her radar soon.

And it all went quiet in the city

And the wind blew down the road

Someone cried out "Subvert"

And the people all went cold

Subvert, subvert, subvert, SUBVERT

Meanwhile back in Subvert City

Someone's writing on the wall

"F**k the government" spray-paint hero

Someone wants the state to fall

Religious dogma crucified

Ritual slaughter, no one lied

Living standards were dying morals

A state-controlled mass suicide

The dying breed of Subvert City

Crept into the underground

The state police just left them there

Blocked the holes, and gassed them down

Ten years later they emerged

Mutated minds so full of hate

Tried again to change the system

But this time round it was too late

There was no system left to change

The people ran the entire land

The subverts became politicians

And finally got the upper hand

Meanwhile back in Subvert City

Someone's writing on the wall

"F**k the government" spray-paint hero

But in Subvert City, it's subvert rule

Subvert, subvert, subvert, SUBVERT

Anyone who thinks one side is always right and the other always wrong is a class A sucker.

I dont think one side is dead wrong or right. There are corruption on both sides.

Think of it this way.

When times are tough do you increase spending???

NO! you cut back

When times are tough and you are a politician do you spend more???

Of course, how else is the economy going to come around?

Tax cuts???

NO

Tax increases???

YES.

People will love to spend lots of money to stimulate the economy when there taxes are sky high and there paying there neighbors mortgage.

Oh boy, here we go again. Californiaman, I feel for you. It may be bad there but it's nothing compared to New York. Here's just a sample. Plus on top of that we have the highest tax burden in the nation (see here). And yes our stupid governor is going to tax us even more now. We spend more in education than any other state (see here) but only have marginal results at best (see here and here). Plus we have by the far the biggest medicaid burden in the entire nation (see here). I love living here but I got lucky to have a great job. There are 1,000s upon 1,000s of people that want to come back but our idiot leaders pretty much ensured that will never happen.

The scary thing is that I'm starting to see the same kind of ideas that brought us here in New York to our knees now being applied at the national level. You want to see where our country is heading, look no further than here!

Get off the Obama did it trip. Do you really give him that much power all his own. It's our whole governments fault. Even people you voted for. Wake up.

Obama is just the next manifestation of a long line of globalists who are part of a bigger plot.

Yes, even people I once voted for are behind this.

However, right now with manufacturing at a standstill, environmental restrictions preventing new manufacturing plants to open up in a timely manner, and an ever increasing amount of bloated governments at both the state and federal level, it's going to take some time before our economic engines are even close to running.

Sure Bush, Clinton, Bush, they're all to blame as are nearly every democratic and republican congressman in Washington and our states.

Lets get rid of them all.

Lets rewrite our laws to reflect common sense legislation.

Lets loosen the power of environmental restrictions.

Lets fire up the engines of manufacturing that help build this once great country.

And that's just the beginning.

Yeah, I understand. You've got it bad on the right coast and I've got it bad on the left coast.

The poor bastards in the middle of the country are starting to feel the pain too.

It's time to clean out the corruption and the socialists.

It's time to drive the money changers out of the temple!

It's going to get a lot worse before it turns around.

We're at 10.5% in California.

Don't you just love Demaconomics?

Or should we call it Obamaconomics?

Yea, it's Obama's fault.

Right along with bush, his war, his ignoring domestic issues as he tried to make up for allowing 9/11 by chasing ghosts in Iraq, etc.

Oh, let's not forget the greedy execs who put short-term gain, bonus envy, and the like, ahead of good business sense. And, for the right wingers who want to blame poor folks -- some of them should not have taken out loans. But the greedy execs and investors who could sell those loans to the next group of greedy investors, pocket the money, meet their short-term quota, are also to blame. I'll forgive the poor, but the greedy bastards who have run companies like GM into the ground don't have an excuse other than greed (which is something too many right wingers accept as a law of nature).

Im so tired of all this " greedy evil corporate executive" BS.

I'm so tired of people blaming the poor, democrats, etc., for our problems. The dang corporate guys should have known better, instead companies like GM were allowed to be run by short-term, bonus, seeking/preserving asses who should have been taking a longer term view of their company and its importance to our country.

Theres your asinine statement of the day.

Your right. Bush forgot to tell everyone that there was a terrorist attack on the calendar that day.

Actually, Clinton was the one who downsized the military making us more vulnerable to such attacks, he had the chance to take out bin ladin and he didnt. Now bush gets the blame...big surprise there.

I woke up with a headache this morning, It was probably George Bushes fault.

The last time I checked those business aren't owned by the government (well not really). They can do what ever the hell they want.

Who said the poor had anything to do with this???

The government MADE banks give out loans to people looking for a house they couldn't afford.

Everyone should have a nice house right, whether they can afford it or not.

This being the point whom ever is in charge someone will feel as if they are being oppressed.
