RIP Howard Dumble

R.I.P.   He will be missed.

As he only made so many amps, their value will now go through the roof.

I used to have TWO Fender Twin IIs - that's how good I thought they were - Rivera designed, massive cascading gain structure, could do those Robben Ford Dumble-y tones.

Sad news. Definitely one of the main icons of tube amp tone. I just had to break the news to my great friend and coworker Joey P, sax man extraordinaire.  Joey played in a band with Dumble in around '63 when they were in high school. Dumble was a couple of years older. Joey's sax wasn't loud enough to be heard over the electric guitars so Dumble built him an amp. Joey recalls it as a big plywood box on wheels and it had a spring reverb. BTW - Dumble was the rhythm guitar player in the band.
