I can't find any info on this hollow body

I am trying to identify this guitar and I can't find anything definitive. Somebody in the past tore out most of the internal sticker. I believe that the serial number  Y 6443 is 61 but the Y prefix  would be 53 ? I dont know what the 1.2 is. The tailpiece is a distinctive art deco style. Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you

Looks like a 50s L5 to me, with staple pickups and a possibly off-gassing pickguard. Never saw one with white covers, though. Doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. She’s a beaut and worth a bunch.

i would check the top under that pickguard pronto

This could be an indication that it had been stolen.  Where did you get this guitar?

It's not a serial number.  The number that's stamped beneath the treble F-hole like that is called a "factory order number" (aka "FON").  So, the numbers are not all that important, as the "Y" indicates 1953, as you correctly noted.

The tailpiece is a distinctive art deco style.

That's a standard L5 tailpiece, correct for 1953.

I also think that the (black) pickups were painted white at some point.

I also agree (strongly) that you should remove that pickguard before it does damage to the guitar (the old phenolic plastic is breaking down and will be off-gassing, which is usually a very bad thing).
