Orville By Gibson acoustic - solid wood?

Yes, that is a very interesting link.  Re the guitar in question, I’d be more inclined to think that the top might be solid, with laminated back & sides.  That was a familiar format for many good quality Japanese acoustics - but I don’t know for sure!

Hi all

I am interested in an 'Orville by Gibson' L-1 guitar (circa 1992), which I have seen on-line. It isn't referred to as 'a Robert Johnson' signature model. Just a plain L-1.

Does anyone know if this guitar is a solid wood guitar - or is it laminate?

Thanks, Steven

The top might be solid, but the back and sides are probably not.

Shouldn't information such as this be available from Gibson directly?

Or is their internal record keeping so bad that they have no idea what their company produces and produced in the past?
