Tim Plains
So ladies and gentlemen, do you use a cotton cloth or microfiber cloth on your precious LP and why?
AXE®
An old worn out cotton washcloth. Or ... What ever the bartender has,,, that doesn't smell too bad ...
Raptor
I use natural cotton chamois or kiwi cloths. They are cheaper than the micro fibre polishing cloths that they push. Keep the cloth clean, wash it when it is dirty or if it gets dropped on the floor as they will pickup bits of dirt and grit and scratch the finish. I usually keep a small polishing cloth in each case. If you use an old shirt make sure it is pure cotton. Some synthetic blends can react with the finish. 3dmac
clean flannel polishing cloth. One new in each case for light cleaning before putting away. 2 for cleaning and polishing. Microfiber good for polishing.
retrosurfer1959
An old worn out cotton washcloth. Or ...What ever the bartender has' date=',, that doesn't smell too bad ...[/quote'] yeah been there done that whatever you have or can find while playing in bars kinda like vodka to clean the strings and fretboard huh? now though usually use old flannel shirt material to wipe in down with or old t-shirt to polish it with spray polish about once or twice a year. MikeRom
Micro fiber only! Cotton, flannel will most likely result in those fine scratches you find in your finish and wonder, where the heck did these come from?
cgarlie
What I have started to use are these "artificial feather dusters" (without the handle) -- it has lots of filaments the trap the dust. I just lightly go over the guitar to remove the dust and then polish using a cotton cloth. Charlie
Zaphod B
Soft cotton cloth. A well-washed cotton infant diaper is perfect.
Beatnik57
I wipe downpolish with microfiber, mainly because it stands up to the washing machine so much better. I do use cotton cloths on my stand supports to keep the rubber from hurting the nitro.
