Jayyounger Posted February 1, 2022 Posted February 1, 2022 Hello! Last week i bought a new 2021 335 in Ebony from a local Store. I really dig the strings that came on it, they should be the factory strings (brass and silver ballends). I want to order some of them, but im not sure if they are Brite Wire´s or the Vintage Reissue´s. I hope someone can help me Quote
kidblast Posted February 1, 2022 Posted February 1, 2022 rumor has, GHS makes strings for Gibson... If they are still marketing Brite Wires, that would be a good guess. A lot of us are fans of D'Addario strings for our Gibson electrics. I think for you, the only sure way to know, (unless someone here does) is an Email to Customer Service. Will you get a reply? Dunno, it's coin flip. Quote
Twang Gang Posted February 1, 2022 Posted February 1, 2022 I'd call Gibson customer service and ask what strings they are putting on a new 335. I did that with a Hummingbird I bought - I liked the way it sounded and wanted to use the same strings when it came time to replace them. Quote
Pinch Posted February 1, 2022 Posted February 1, 2022 I would think Brite Wires? They're on the LPs IIRC. I put D'Addarios on. Tone apostrophe. Quote
Sgt. Pepper Posted February 2, 2022 Posted February 2, 2022 (edited) Here is what you do, buy a bunch of different ones and see what you like. Strings are cheap compared to guitars. Edited February 2, 2022 by Sgt. Pepper Quote

badbluesplayer Posted February 3, 2022 Posted February 3, 2022 BTW, you can get slinky's on ebay from Musicians Friend for about $40 per dozen. It's cheaper than if you order them straight from MF. It's a constant promotional thing. But it's only on ebay, as far as I can tell. Quote
