You cant count Jimi Hendrix as a brit just because he got started in England that is absurd.

The Beatles got even more famous when they came to America but it does not make them American.

I'm not sure who your talking to, but if it was me I didn't count Hendrix as a Brit I simply said he got his start there. I was point out 9 of 10 of my favorites were Brits and the 10 had close ties to the UK. I was trying to understand why so many from such a small place, geographically.

Just to show that I seem to agree, I mention as my view of the best bands:

Zeppelin, Rush (kind of Brit), Beatles, Cream. Other than those bands, who cares?

(just kidding, kind of =D>

But I wonder if it's because of the way that music is presented to us. The grass is

often greener on the other side, so did the music industry fall prey to this belief and

unconsciously present Brit music to us, so that we'd prefer it? Although it's hard to deny

that Zepp is as good as they are.

Maybe the British musicians are less interested in being posers and copiers. Maybe

American musicians have let commercialism and marketing affect their thinking too

much.

Good question that I've wondered about for years.

Rush is Canadian, not British. There's a huge difference (IMO). I was wrong about BTO and NickleBack, too. They're Canadian.

Joni Mitchell is also one of ours. You guys can have Nickleback though, we don't want them.

Alright' date=' you can have BTO if you send Obama to get Rush back for us. I don't know how those Sneaky Brits stole them from us in the first place![/quote']

You got it. I'll have him drop off Celine Dion if you want. I'd like to pass Taylor Swift off on them, too.
