2013 Les Paul studio goldtop

Recommended Posts

Hey Y’all

i just got my hands on a Les Paul studio goldtop from 2013 (serial number says its from Oct 2012), i want to know if someone has one from this year as i cant find the specs anywhere. This one comes with 57 and 57+ pickups and the info i’ve found online from Studios that year is that they came with 490R and 498T

but the pick ups dont match, i was wondering if it was a Guitar center special run or something like that, because the 57 PUs are stock

Pickups are easily changed so it probably started with the 490s and someone switched them out for 57s.  Having owned Les Pauls with both types of those pickups the 57s to me gave a mellower and more vintage tone, but up top personal preference.

That seems to be what happened, and i do prefer the 57’s! First time having a studio with those PUs
thanks 🙂
