Pre-ordered Vinyl Day

Recommended Posts

Pre-ordered these two triple album sets. I have my original Live At The Fillmore East, June 1971. They will be arriving next Friday. The Rainbow Theater show is when Frank was pushed off stage and broke his leg and was in a wheel chair for a while, and he stopped touring for a bit.

Wow.  $60.00 for a REPRINT?  Or are they actually 50+ year old pressings?

Whitefang

The original Fillmore '71 was a single LP, the new one is a triple with 2 LPs of extra songs that didn't make the original. This is the official Rainbow Theater album release. The reissued FZ albums sound better than my CD's of the same album.

Like gas, vinyl has gone up to, thanks Sleepy Joe.

Everything's gone up everywhere Sarge!

Domestic (heating & cooking) gas price rise is up 125% since the start of this year in the UK.

We're paying the equivalent of $2 (about) for ONE litre of petrol - less than 2 pints.

The price of a digitally mastered LP pressing over here is from about £18 to £26 ($23 to $34) unless it's a special edition (LZ remasters, your Zappas etc) which are much more.

To me it's partly down to greed, shrinking resources/shortage of materials, demand far outstripping supply, 2-year global pandemic and now a frigging war that none of us want or are fighting.  Honestly I  don't think you can blame 'Sleepy Joe'  for the high price of vinyl!

I know everything is going up. Blaming Joe is a joke, and he himself is a joke too, like the guys with the other sweaters blaming the Orange guy for 4 years. It's a stupid political game we play over here. Instead of doing what is best for the people, and trying to stop homelessness and taking care of our Veterans who served our country, they do what is best for the Bozo's that are up on the Hill. All those clowns are puppets, we need more stupid laws, and The Wokies trying to erase our history. Tearing down a statue , and renaming Army Bases doesn't change the good and bad stuff that happened in our country. Its called history.

Gas where I'm at in some stations is close to $4 a gallon. In California its over $5 a gallon.

it certainly doesn't help that the guy is obviously suffering from dementia, has no idea where he is, or wtf is going on.

100% pure puppet.  Sad really.  Left or right, they are wings of the same bird.

Fact is,, he should not be in office,  plain and simple

but I digress...................................

My wife is a democrat and even she didn’t want him to get the Presidential nomination.

As a big FZ fan, I look forward to seeing your review.

As far as politicians go, with a few very rare exceptions, all politicians at every level suck.  Some suck less than others,  but they still suck.  The best description of a politician I’ve ever heard came from the movie “The Hunt for Red October,” when Richard Jordan, who played the U.S. Secretary of Defense, said to Jack Ryan:

”Jack, I’m a politician.  Which means when I’m not kissing babies, I’m stealing their lollipops.”

sorry to have put shade on the topic,

lets go back to our regularly scheduled program..

I’m cool with it. I love bashing Joe and AOC needs a muzzle, and a beating. If you want to be a Socialist so bad AOC, move to a country that is, and serve the greater good, and see how much fun it is, and let us know how they feel about womens rights.

The Zappa ‘88 The Last US Show LP was really good.

The Mothers 1970 had a few good nuggets on it, but the live stuff sounded like it was recorded with a pillow over the mics.

In the Zappa doc they show “The Vault”. It’s packed. There is so much stuff in there. Let us fans have it.

I bought way too much Zappa last year.  1970, the last US show, Buffalo, the 2 box sets with the stupid Halloween masks, the documentary which I haven't watched yet.  Fillmore East is on my radar as well.  I've got More of the Monkees on pre-order too (a fool and his money, I guess).

Paid $6/gallon last week; my Harley needs premium.

My wife got new vinyl today. It is from a band called Frames. Her son, my stepson is lead guitarist for the band. I've seen them once and their music is not to bad. Kind of Emo/Shoe Gaze/Alt. kind of stuff.

Have you listened to them yet?

Mine will show up sometime next week.

No. My wife and I went to Busch Gardens (a theme park) yesterday and got home late. I will today. Here are the two hype stickers. Notice any buzz words?

I just needle dropped Side One of The Rainbow Theater one. I think they slipped me a Pink Floyd album. The first song Zanti Serenade is a lot to take in.

I'm sure anyone can guess which one is the new one.
