greggsansone
Hi. I just purchased a 1994 Gibson Chet Atkins SST in natural color. I’ve had a black ‘95 for over 20 years. My “new” one has problems with the volume wheel. It has cut out before but more than not the volume fluctuates. It gets very loud sometimes when I try to increase volume or it will be set at a specific volume and suddenly decrease in volume therefore causing me to turn the volume control up and then it can get really loud. I even ran the guitar through a little volume stomp pedal that I use for magnetic pickup guitars like my Strat. It added an increase in volume for sure but the same thing happened when I worked the volume “wheel” as before only considerably louder. I wonder if I need a replacement control assembly. By the way the bass and treble control wheels work fine.
