Guido_59
Hello guys , from Italy. On Saturday I have purchased a second hand Epiphone EL-00 pro in very good condition, seems new! I need suggest about new string, actually is old and sounds poor. I think they are 11 gauge . I don’t play an acoustic guitar from along time. I the past I had used and like Martin This is a shape that I never had played before. What gauge , 11-52 or 12-54. ? Or others? Martin brands : phophore/ bronze , bronze, silk or Monel? SP , Marquis or Retro ? I play blues and sometimes strumming I don’t like too brilliant strings. What do you suggest ?
QuestionMark
Congratulations on the EL-00 Pro. I think they’re quite fine guitars! I like Martin Authentic Acoustic 80/20 Bronze 12s on my EL-00 Pro. But, lately I’ve been experimenting with Martin Authentic Acoustic 80/20 11s and even 10s on some of my other guitars (and I’m having good results, which surprises me.) For sure, I don’t think you can go wrong with the 12s. QM aka “ Jazzman” Jeff Edited May 17, 2022 by QuestionMark
Guido_59
Thanks Generally I had liked Martin phophore bronze over bronze in the past on my acoustic guitar, also much then Elixir that I like on electric. Some friends suggest Curt Mangan but they are difficult to find in Italy
