Murph
Went to Owensboro Ky. yesterday and walked through the place. Pretty darned nice, I must say. Everybody had some mention, it seems, even the youngsters Tuttle/Strings/Jarosz. New standards Punch Bros/Thile and Co', even Jerry Garcia, Grisman, and the stewards Rice, Bush, Ricky, The Stoneman Family and on and on. There's a picking room with Martin guitars on the wall, banjos, upright bass, resonators and stuff, just grab them and play. Had tuners and picks laying around. That was very cool, a young girl was playing and singing when we left. The coolest thing though was Uncle Pen's fiddle and I forgot to take a picture of it. And a Pete Seeger banjo. Those pictures are already on the internet anyhow. Exhibits - Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum (bluegrasshall.org) R.O.M.P. looks to be good this summer with Punch Bros and even Tommy Emmanuel coming, and they moved it to handle a larger crowd. It was very cool, I'm glad we made the day trip. Edited May 18, 2022 by Murph
