Read the 1st amendment(those able to) carefully, and you'll notice the wording...

First Amendment

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to    assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Looks to me like it reads that CONGRESS shall make no law abridging the freedom of speech.  Says NOTHING about disallowing anybody else from doing so.

People have been misreading and misinterpreting the first amendment to suit their own purpose just as others have been doing the same with the second amendment.

It's the very first one I'm most concerned with lately.

We are talking about the "banned" message appearing while both moderators have confirmed they didn't ban the user.  I haven't seen any other threads with that same problem.

Want to annoy an IT administrator?  Compare their network/database/bb/whatever to those hosted by other organizations.   I used to be a member of the Fender forum when it existed.  They had their own issues.

The Fender Forum appears to be alive & well.. Just went there… Interestingly enough they have a Gibson Section..

That ”banned” isn’t the only mention of banned on this forum…. I’m just saying I don’t see this even come up on most other forums..

Reminds me of a mistake made at a company I worked for.  I was in the IT dept and one of my co-workers blocked the keyword "Viagra" to stop some SPAM emails.  And as an afterthought, the added the word "Cialis".  Immediately after the change, our web programmer stopped being able to send emails internally.  I looked into it and figured out, he had his job title in his email signature.  "Web SpeCIALISt" 🤦‍♂️

When I worked, it was for companies that built heavy-duty diesel vehicles....and when we got a new server and IT Department, they blocked out certain words....and suddenly we couldn't include our major engine manufacturer....CUMMINS in any email!

I can see all the ISP's used by him and the dates involved. I'm sure ISPs can be blocked by those with that specific permission but I don't have it.

However I am curious about the following dates:

3/1/22, 3/22/22, 3/23/22, 5/5/22.

Any chance you tried to log onto the forum on those dates and got the banned message?

I guess I shouldn't complain that I'm not listed as "All Access"....I'm just "Members" category...and I don't have the option to "Like" anything!

After HOURS of digging, I was able to find this:

"The Fender Forum is a privately owned and operated site.
The Fender Forum is in no way affiliated with Fender Musical Instrument Corporation."

So what? Who cares if it is or isn’t? As long as it’s a good Forum! Have a great day!

I had said the official fender forum was shut down and you had said "The Fender Forum appears to be alive & well".   I was responding to that.

Ok… Got it.. Thanks

One would think artificially intelligent beings would only censor words they deem unacceptable on their platforms when they are standalone - preceded and followed by a space - and not in the middle of what one would assume might be a legitimate word.   I read somewhere that somewhere down the road, computers will become 'independent' and protect themselves from being controlled by humans. Five years ago - I would have laughed it off as Science Fiction, no longer.    I guess we're setting ourselves up to that 'takeover'  when we say  "it's a computer glitch" and just accept it.

Or at the beginning.  Like shitake quartz.

But your wind up last few sentences remind me of a joke from the late '60's

All the greatest electronics experts got together on a project to create the world's largest and most powerful computer.  It eventually grew to a height of five stories, and took up the space of a city block.  Into it was fed all the information found in all the world's encyclopedias, text books and spiritual scripture,  with all the world's liturature, texts on math and all scientific data known to man.  Finally the day came when it would be tested.  And after the decision was made as to what it was to be asked, the leader of the project sat at it's keyboard and typed the question;

"Is there a God?"

All the lights on it started furiously blinking and frantic whirring sounds and clicking could be heard for a few minutes.  And then the computer began teletyping it's answer.  and on the sheet of teletype was this answer;

"There is NOW!"

And why not?

Most of the lawyers I've dealt with(handling my divorce) seemed artificial enough.  [wink]

Yep.   With all do respect to any officers of the court here -   I think we have twice as many lawyers as any other country in the world.  We use to be  "A Nation of Laws", now we're  just  "A Nation of Lawyers." ,   Ever notice, when there's an ambulance racing down the street, there's always a car racing right behind it ?

Ain't it odd that we (in America)  have "a nation of lawyers" and yet our justice system is hopelessly broken?
