There is something terribly wrong in this country. Something just isn't right. Perhaps the apocalypse is upon us.

Need evidence?

Try this....

The Cubs are tied for first place

The Bears have a real quarterback--the first in 20+ years.

Enjoy the Cubs standing while you can. I know how you feel.

I'm in the same situation with the Os. They whipped the Yanks on Opening Day and are currently in 1st place in the AL-E. I know it won't last, but the joy of that one day will last a long time. [-o<

I hope Cutler pans out. He's kind of Favre ish, taking chances when the chips are down, but it is nice to see the Bears with a solid QB

The Bears do NOT have a real quarterback. They have a cry-baby like Jeff George was, oh wait they're both from Indiana. Hmmm makes me wonder.

You can have Cuttler perhaps he'll be better in the windy city.

You might be right. But he is way better than what we had.

Well the Bears haven't changed much and there is still a mayor named Richard Daley! The Cubs are better. The Ivanhoe still has a speak easy. Northwestern is not a contender. But http://www.luc.edu/ came out to San Diego and I gave them a check -- they say they are growing! Depression or not. But the Ramblers are nothing to bellow about. I graduated here too http://www.roosevelt.edu/cas/pspa/mpa.htm but it was just a degree rah-rah feeling there. Chicago is still the greatest town for food and jazz. Excellent food. Terrific jazz. Great blues bands too. [too cold to do much else in the winter months]. Chicago used to be the home of the National Barn Dance (WLS = worlds largest store)(Sears catalog = out house) --http://www.wlshistory.com/NBD/ was actually bigger than the Grand Old Opry and had a parade of stars. http://www.wlshistory.com/NBD/NBDPR1.htm (Never actually in competition though) Bob Atcher http://www.ritscyberpals.com/bob_a.html was host in Shaumburg, Ill (then cornfields) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Atcher Back when Chicago had the Union Stockyards there was an excellent steak house called the Stock Yard Inn at the International Livestock Exposition center. At Pershing Road and Halsted. Jaques on Michigan was a good eatery. Also the London House, Algauers, Frank & Mariess (by the Edgewater Beach Hotel). The Vosnos Restaurants in Niles Township and several on Lincoln Ave. There was a country dive called Jims BBQ out at Golf & Waukegan Roads.

I'm in Illinois now. Root'n for the Bears because I'm here, BUT.........

I lived in Lake Charles (La.) for well over a decade and always follow the Saints.

The old team,Bobby Hebert, Dome Patrol, Morten Anderson, Dalton Hilliard, ect., ect.

Once a Saints fan, always a Saints fan.

Let the good times roll.

Wow, top billing on a thread about sports!

I'm thrilled!

Well, except for the fact that I care very little about pro sports unless they involve gasoline.

And just for the record, I'm not a NASCAR fan either.

NHRA Drag Racing, Formula One were the sports I followed years ago. Dirt track is a hoot - in person.

I LOVE air races - truly the Sport Of Kings.

Motorcycles of any kind, but especially roadracing...

The odd football game, and a Superbowl or two - beyond that I just don't care.

:-)

Carry on as you were, I'm outta here.
