MissouriPicker Posted July 25, 2022 Posted July 25, 2022 Have any of you folks used one of these? I just recently heard about them, although they’ve been out for a few years. They just stick on the the back of your guitar and you can add reverb, chorus, etc. I realize they are not a full-blown amp, but actually an acoustic enhancement. Quote

Hi Larry yea, I use mine a lot, to use the amp, you need to install their x-brace which is a very low risk installation. Uses double sided tape pads. the xbrace is very light, made of plasct with four small (but powerful) magnets which secure the amp to the back of the guitar. I've had the x-brace in 4 guitars now and they cause no harm. I don't have the x-brace installed in my J200 It's not an "Amp" to use instead of a full acoustic amp. The way it works, is that gives you around the same volume as the guitar, (maybe a little louder) with effects. The reverb and delay are pretty much the only effects I use. It does require some tweaking of the Global settings to get it set right for your guitar, and you can set multiple guitars and multiple effect settings for each guitar. Battery life is meh, you get about 4 or 5 hours out of 3 AA batteries let me know if you have any questions I can help with. 1 Quote

The slight boost in sound would help at library gigs too. I think I’d enjoy it simply noodlin’ around. Quote

If you do pull the trigger, don't give up on it, it takes a bit of time to get it sorted out for the guitar you're going to use it on. The x-brace install is very easy, but a lot of people take one look at how this thing attaches to the guitar and they back away. So you'll have to sort that out. but It will do no harm. I have an x-brace in my 814 CE Deluxe V class, (not a cheap guitar) as well as my 2 other taylors. 1 Quote
