Murph Posted July 30, 2022 Posted July 30, 2022 (edited) The battles Allen Collins fought. Had the Rossington Collins band continued, we could have had many more classics and the name "Lynyrd Skynyrd" wouldn't have ended up being a cover band. Dale Krantz was a very good vocalist even back in 1980. With Ed King, this is actually a Skynyrd tribute cover of a RC song, if that makes any sense. With Travis Tritt doing the Barry Lee Harwood vocals. Probably around 1993. Dale Krantz was really good. Edited July 30, 2022 by Murph 1 Quote
OrdinaryNimda Posted July 30, 2022 Posted July 30, 2022 I never knew these guys in the years after L.Skynyrd... the music/style is immediately recognizable, almost like coming home. THANX! 👍 Quote
Whitefang Posted July 30, 2022 Posted July 30, 2022 Can't say much for the song, but the band's sound is good. Whitefang Quote
brad1 Posted July 30, 2022 Posted July 30, 2022 I'm a big Skynyrd fan. But I never got into the RCB albums. I own both of them. Have only listened to them a few times. I just don't like the songs very much. Maybe if Artimus had been the drummer...but he broke his leg and wasn't able to. But hey, that's me. I'm sure there are plenty of folks who dug them. It's a shame Allen was gone at such a young age. He made some bad choices and ended up having to live with the consequences. Although it wasn't very long. He was a great guitar player and I wish I had been able to see him play live. I really thought I was going to see Skynyrd. Who knew fate would intervene and screw everything up? Cool thing though. I did get to see Randy Rhoads, Stevie Ray, and "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott before they each passed away. I consider myself very lucky that I did. Quote
