hbomb76
I personally love Candy Apple Red on SG's, probably in my top-5 of fave colors on them (others being REAL cherry, Pelham Blue, black and white). With custom-order guitars pretty much any color Gibson does is possible (unless it's wood-specific like a burst or something), and luckily Candy Apple Red is a mainstay...SHOULD be an option on NON-custom guitars, it's one of their better finishes hands-down. As with most of the SG finishes, I think as long as it's got a good clearcoat on top (and the finish isn't sinking into the grain) that'd be a great color to have onstage. I thought about getting one of my Epi's refinished in Candy Apple Red, to be honest. Just gotta love that nice shade o' red with the sparkles. And yes, it looks legit. And it DOES have binding, look again. If it were several hundred less I'd max out the Discover card to get it just because I'm a sucker for the color. But at that price for a used one with the stock incorrect horn shaping I'd just rather pay the upcharge to custom order one and tell 'em to pay a little special attention to the horns for me. Not a bad guitar overall though, perfect for someone who wants one that'll stand out a little more. H-Bomb
