merciful-evans
any advance on 2020?
RichS1
Seems like there is a discrepancy in dates here. I did watch a video where it was said that Gibson changed back it's serial number dating to 1st & 5th number year in 2020. So I do believe this is a 2022. Sgt. Pepper
I love it is so difficult for Gibson to come up with a simple serial number scheme.

None of the serial number dating websites seem to account for it. They assume ydddyrrrr which means they give an incorrect result. The OP's (a year ago now) guitar could actually be either 2020, or 2022. Just one of many good reasons to decide on a format and bloody stick to it. I guess just starting at the number 1, and then the second one built is number 2, and so on was way beyond anyone's comprehension. You need slide rules, dial wheels, and Ovaltine secret decoder ring to figure out a Gibson serial number. And in the grand scheme of it all, it's just a number. Edited May 20, 2023 by Sgt. In automotive vehicles, it took 17 digits to get it right, although one is a 'check digit' to catch you if you try to change the VIN.
