I think he means a user name that says "Look at me! Look at me! I'm cool and controversial even if I can't decide on my own which color I want my guitar to be so I resort to asking strangers on the internet what I should buy!"

Oh yeah what kind of person would put "I'm cool and controversial" as a user name thats just egotistical.

I did read somewhere that they are a GC exclusive. The coil-splitting seems to be their 'big sell' on this guitar from what I've read. The ads are focused on strat-players who may have been thinking about a LP.

First post. I just found this thread after shopping for a Strat at GC today and playing this LP trad pro in vintage sunburst. The one I played has great sustain and covers a lot of sonic territory, from traditional LP to Fender twang. I dig the coil splitting feature.

GC exclusive or not, am I missing something? It seems like a lot of guitar for $2000 and I may jump on one tomorrow. Any advice you can offer an electric guitar newbie will be much appreciated!

For background, I am a keyboardist and acoustic strummer from way back. Last year I bought a DOT to get my feet wet and decide if I want a real electric guitar. So I got the bug and am looking to trade up to something I enjoy playing that also has a reasonable investment value.

Thanks,

Sky
