SG dude
hey guys! i have always asked myself this but i've never asked on here (must have slipped my mind) on the SG standard, the neck binding goes oves the frets, how do they do this, i thought binding was solid but it looks like it has been moulded with heat over them, how is this done?? i mean over the actual frets, not down the side of neck. thanks guys. 80LPC
The binding is solid. When it's attached, it is a uniform height down each side of the fretboard. It is then scraped down between each fret by hand, which takes skill and quite a bit of time. A sharp blade is used. If you look closely, you will see the scrape marks on the fretboard.
