I just think that those guitars just dont look very appealing, and they just don't make me want to play them. Maybe it's because I'm a Les Paul player, I don't know... Most Full pickguard Norlin / CMI era SGs 1966-76 are already routed for 3 pickups = a significant amount of wood is missing under there= a significant lack of tone compared to pre '65 SG standards - like Duane's in the 1st post. Also most '67 SGs had a skinny Nut - feels like a Fender Duo Sonic - instead of the '61 SG Standards that have the wider Nut spacing and more "meat" to the fretboard. With my big hands i can barely play a 1st position A 7th chord on a '68 SG - the Nut width is significantly narrow - compared to a '61 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
