This is kind of on the side but do you really need a wireless system, especially for home? If you're playing large stages I can see it but if you're just playing at home and clubs, then I think it's a bit overkill unless you're one of those guys who takes off through the audience. I saw a swing band a couple of weeks ago where the guy playing an upright bass had a wireless and dragged the thing up on to the bar and was wailing away (The Gas House Gorillas). Very cool.

The issue with wireless systems is that they do evil things with your tone by compressing the signal at the transmitter then expanding it back at the receiver. In a live situation where everything is cranked up, that's probably not a big deal but if you use a fuzz or treble booster with old style germanium transistors, the wireless is going to dramatically effect the way those pedals sound.

Well' date=' for what you were looking to spend on a wireless, you can probably pick up a nice little practice amp that tucks neatly into a corner or behind the sofa for the times you want to play downstairs.

I think you're right, another amp wouldn't hurt.=D>
