IanHenry
Enzo, welcome to the forum and your English is fine (a lot better than my French!). I believe your guitar is a Les Paul Recording model.
SteveFord
But the pick ups? Edited January 17, 2023 by SteveFord
Enzo66000
Hello IanHenry, Thank you for your answer, its true this model look like recording model but is not, on this guitar the electronic is passive and this is not the same micro. i know the model recording and is not like this lespaul. thank you
Enzo66000
The pick up is TIM show of custom lespaul seventys .
SteveFord
The back is wrong and the pictures look like abalone for the headstock and fret inlays. This is a question for Gibson, I think.
duane v
Definitely a Gibson LPC with a custom made "Recording" control plate. Looks like someone may have added the abalone, or it could have a been custom made one-off. Gibson did use abalone fret markers and on the headstock on early 70's L5S But the guitar is a Gibson for sure.
GuitarsAnn
That is a Beauty. Love the Abalone.
DanvillRob
Enzo, how does it play? It's a real beauty.
Whitefang
The more unusual LP I've seen, but a handsome one nonetheless. But I'm just chiming in with an opinion on it's looks. I'm really not "expert" enough to venture a guess on it's actual heritage(pun not intended). But I'll second that welcome to the forum, Enzo. Tman
Cette guitare est formidable! Elle est très belle et tu as de la chance ! Ma mère était française d'ailleurs (my mom was French). Stunning guitar, a real find. Edited January 17, 2023 by Tman
gearbasher
The '71-'72 SG Deluxe Stereo is close electronics-wise. It's one pot short. Only 79 made and go for big $$$. https://reverb.com/p/gibson-sg-deluxe-stereo-1971-1972?hfid=61738529&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=17684165886&utm_content=campaignid=17684165886_adgroupid=137240598454_productpartitionid=1896627064202=merchantid=651250603_productid=61738529_keyword=_device=c_adposition=_matchtype=_creative=609048300175&gclid=Cj0KCQiAq5meBhCyARIsAJrtdr5E0h-xLvZXAaPdGUVcqCNsrhXJcaNymzNd0Zz0BGq5kiWoY7CkI-MaAtXhEALw_wcB . jdgm
Why does the TRC say Les Paul Standard? Worth a look beneath. As there is no back plate the guitar was made this way...? It seems to be all maple...? A one-off I think.

Second, yes pics of under the TRC would help. Third, I think like a Strat, its all accessible and the wiring done under the plastic plate. Forth it may be all maple. And finally fifth, if real it could be a one off. Fakes can be damn good by those sneaky Chinese. Here is a LP Recording, and it has no control cover on the back. But is the one we are are talking about real? If the binding looks like it was scrapped by a Zombeaver, then yes its real. https://reverb.com/item/64958916-1970-s-gibson-les-paul-recording-walnut-electric-guitar-w-vintage-gibson-hard-case-used-made-in-the-usa Edited January 17, 2023 by Sgt. IanHenry
Enzo, I think the best thing to do is e-mail Gibson support with the serial number and photo's, they'll be able to tell you what it is, they are usually quite helpful.
