Brets9
Hello all .. does anyone know if Gibson put Schaller bridges in Explorers during this time frame? I ask because the guitar in question has bridge support bushings. I am assuming that if an ABR1 was used the posts would be screwed directly into the wood. This guitar had a neck repair so the serial numbers are gone. Under a black light you can see everything and it looks really good. The logo is intact and from what I can tell it was used from 76-82. However, in 1982 I only see that they made the E2, which has bushings, but this guitar is traditional and not an E2. Additionally, the holes for the machine heads are consistent with Gibson branded Schallers, which might make sense for the bridge so I am thinking 1980-1981? Stumped. Brets9
I think that I found it my answer! However, any confirmations on the years that this bridge was used on Explorers would be great! https://reverb.com/item/7221276-1975-gibson-schaller-nashville-bridge-chrome-made-in-germany-les-paul-deluxe-standard-sg-1976-1977 Edited January 21, 2023 by Brets9
