switchfootrocks
Will the dark fire finally be released as a standard run? Time will tell.... P.S. Who thinks the dark fire should have a bluish-red fade?
dukemaster
Will the dark fire finally be released as a standard run? Do you mean a mainstream mass production and no longer a limited production? I hope not. P.S. Who thinks the dark fire should have a bluish-red fade? I think it would look more like fire if it had red as the main color fading to a thin yellow band around the outside perimeter of the body. Sort of like a reverse of the common sunburst style. But I'm happy with it as is. Bookmatched woodgrain would be ultra cool but if not that's OK too.
switchfootrocks
Yes, I meant as a standard run. I can see your point, though. It's cool when there is a limited edition because of all the hype and everything, but what about the people who couldn't afford one during december and january, but want to own one now. For the colors, I think that a dark blue would look cool, if they kept the wood looking firey
Alouf
I am pretty sure there will be a standard run of the DF...although I am not sure it will be called a DF, but it will have the same electronics.

MCK
Well, the limited edition is still short of about 3700 guitars that need to be shipped first. Many are on order with people around the world waiting anxioulsy for them. So I would think that the 'anticipated' May run will kick the wheels towards that ~ 3700 LE Dark Fires... What happens after that is anybody's guess...

switchfootrocks
Gibson Custom could hook you up? $$$$ True. But custom finishes are expensive, and I bet they would charge extra for getting a finish to look firey like the dark fire does.
