1934jumbo
Good day, I wanted to ask if any one knows the, string spacing at the bridge? This is the 2020-2023 historic model 1936 J-35. I have a 2013 1/100 1934 Jumbo, which I love with the 2 3/8 string spacing. Thanks; 1934jumbo
zombywoof
Why don't you simply call a seller and ask. It is not all that difficult to provide that spec. I have only ever bought one guitar costing any kind of money sight unseen and was provided with every spec under the sun. Wildwood though while not providing a spec for string spread does note the bridge has "historic" spacing so I would assume it is not the more typical 2 7/32". tpbiii
Seems like Gibson is reissuing my 35-37 large Gibson collection. All of the Jumbo35s from 1936 were original project TROJAN guitars, and they really did not ship until late 1936 as TROJANs -- 39 in the shipping ledgers. I actually own the only TROJAN guitar that also had the FON in the ledgers. So this is what it should look like. . Best, -Tom

Best, -Tom I would have guessed that a J35 with two scalloped tone bars and assuming it has the more generous string spacing at the bridge and the wider rounder neck heel(rather than the more French Heel" looking neck joint on your Trojan) would have a more in common with a 1940 J35. At least going by the last J35 built that year I got my hands on. Then again, who cares. I love looking at the pics of your guitars so any reason to post them works just fine for me. Gibson29
Played one of those. What a monster, some sound you can obsess over.
tpbiii
Late 1936 was a pivotal period for Gibson. The J-35s from that period were all Trojans -- deeper Jumbo mahogany body, French heel, no back binding and three unscalloped tone bars. It was a less expensive version of the Jumbo. At the same time, they introduced the Advanced Jumbo -- round heel, wider x-brace angle, mostly two scalloped tone bars (mine actually has three, which is incredibly rare), RW back and sides, and a less deep and more sloped body. In 1937, they went over to the Advanced body shape for the J-35. This one was built at about the same time as the Trojan above. 36 TROJAN. 43 SJ, ad 36 AJ Best, -Tom Edited March 20, 2023 by tpbiii
