ke3ee Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 I traded my Martin 000-28ec for a J-185ec. I never bonded with the V neck on the Martin since 2005. Ive played other Martins, Taylors, Breedloves and many many Gibsons. Ive spoken harshly about some of the Gibsons Ive played, mostly due to build or craftsmanship issues , but I found a great one. What did it for me was what I would describe as snap and timber on the 185. The size will take a little getting used to, but the neck already feels great. If I knew how to load a photo I would. As a point of info, the guitar or brand that came closest to the sound and feel I was looking for was a Breedlove. It just wasnt a Gibson....its already hanging next to my SG Classic on the living room wall. Robb
Taylor Player Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 Congrat's on your new Gibson Robb!!! Photo's are easy... Just go to a photo hosting website like Photobucket, sign up and upload your photos there. When you have them "hosted" then you simply click on the little icon that looks like mountains with a sun above and it provides image brackets for you to copy and paste your photo into. It sounds much harder than it is. Just get used to having a couple windows open to the internet so you can just click between your photos and the thread your posting to. Welcome and I look forward to seeing your new J-185ec!
zombiewuff Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 Very nice. What year is it? In the current incarnation Gibson has done away with that mustache bridge (a mistake in my opinion, but they didn't ask me.) Post a pick of the back if you get a chance.
ke3ee Posted April 18, 2009 Author Posted April 18, 2009 Hi, thanks. Its a 2000 from the hang tags and serial number.
