Tone

Good evening again all,

Regarding tone between our wonderful pickups. Standard tone with no "DF" EQ on it. I'm finding that I have a very full lush beefy tone with my P90 and feel as though I have a very "biting" treble tone with my Bustbucker 3 in the back...I feel as though it gets too thin.

I haven't played with it too much but before I sent it away for my RMA I don't remember being as concerned with my bridge tone.

Thoughts?

I'm playing though a Line6 Vetta II. Vox AC30 TB setting. Dual amps running. Distortion sounds better but I'd like a more balanced tone for my clean sounds. The thinness is pretty consistent across all of the models...as well as my Marshall TSL122.

I also noticed a thinner tone from the BustBucker 3, but really like the tone from the P90. In fact, I think it's my new PUP of preference. I sent back mine on an RMA and they definitely fixed tone issues. I think you will be happy.

Verify which Chameleon mode you are in.

There is a "memory effect" - with the MCK knob - in other words, just because the MCK is down - does NOT mean you are in standard LEs Paul Mode with no Parametric EQ!

Thanks for the responses. I did check my Chameleon tone and verified that I was truly in GIBSON original mode. In addition I installed my firmware update for the guitar and played the next day. Still felt thin. Very odd as I feel like it just started in the last month. After I received my DF back from RMA. I've also noticed that now that my MCK is fixed it's sticky...so sometimes I manually have to pull it up. Upsetting but I really don't want to lose my DF again!

I'll have to keep playing and learning.
