Hi,

I'm due to receive a new Gibson GOTW #19 this week, but just wanted to know if the fretboard requires oiling before use? The posts I've seen on the internet imply that its more for maintenance after use rather than initial conditioning, but just wanted to check. Any advice?

Thanks!

I wouldn't worry about it. Just clean/condition the fretboard on your next string change.

Well the courier just dropped it off....looks great. I'll try to upload some picks tomorrow.

Question...are the humbuckers supposed to be firm within the plastic pickup surround? Mine seem loose, not so much that they move with the guitar, but if you touch them they move.

Also...do all Gibson guitars come with certificates of authenticity? Although unused, I purchased through a private seller so just want to check if I should chase it up (it wasn't included in the case....only the standard Gibson manual).

Don't worry about the humbuckers, they are only attached by two screws with springs around them for tension, so they all move a little.

Only custom shop Gibsons come with COAs (as far as i'm aware).

She's a stunner by the way - congrats!
