Was poking around on the Wildwood site, found a SG Autum Busrt. I said, honey look at this, it's the one I told you about the other day. She said it's nice, did you add it to the cart?

.... jaw hit the floor

... nearly fell over backwards

... who is this women? Better check the house for pods ...

j/k really, wasn't quite expecting that reaction but OK.

Also been gassin' for a blonde tele cuz tele's just sound great for the blues and I love the blonde color. On the other hand, the SG is gorgeous and with a carved maple top, nice.

Tele

SG Autum Burst

I'll be playing the Jeapordy music in my head while you think it over.

I personally don't like SG's. However, get the one that is worth more and play it for a while then sell it and get two cheaper fenders.

Play em both through your rig and see how they play and sound. In the end, it's really about what feels best and is right for you. No one else can really tell you 'this fiddle will be the one for you.'

Agreed. For me, my next purchase is going to be a 339 (Are Nine can call me a girl all he likes but that's what I'm doing!). After that it's a tele for me. Sorry TG, Murph got to me first with his 339. But I've never been an SG person so the above advice sounds good to me...

Local stores have teles but noooobody has the SG in stock. I would love to do an A/B without having to commit.

I did play a similar tele not long ago and shortly after I bought my Paul. It was great. Wondered at the time if I didn't make a mistake buying the Paul ... hmmmm

I voted for the Tele before looking at the SG and now i would tell you to get the Carved top SG.

Out of the two I'd go for the Tele. Like Blonde teles, but not Crazy about dark bursts on the SG. Hides the features (Strats too). Now if it was a nice Amberburst of Honeyburst...........

But it's your taste, so you must like that dark burst. In that case I'd say get the SG because it's elegant and different. There's lotsa Blonde Teles.

Ahhhh...buy 'em both! ;>) Two different sounds (and scales). But, since you have a LP already, the Telecaster

would give you another quite different tone option. But, SG's are great! Especially if you "live" in the upper

fret areas.

I'd go with the Tele. I just got a Korean tele with seymor duncans and a set neck with a carved top. It's got the tele sound as well as the darker Gibson Dual Humbucker sound as well. It's a better player than either my Les Paul, or my Strat. (That may be just cause it's new!) =D>

Epi Les Paul Custom Silver Burst

Fender Strat HSS

Fender Telecaster HH

I would say get the Tele, but try it out first. There's nothing worse than a bad tele, because they are BAD.

But a good Tele, well, I'd say it's even better than a Les Paul. I have a Tele with a humbucker in the neck and it rules.

Anyway, I say tele...

Well appearently I mis-understood. She likes that guitar and wants to buy it for me. OH! Okay. Order it today. Should have here by next week. I think I'll name this one, gonna call it Karen. Or do you think I should use my wifes name?

=D>

Tele....

EDIT: I would normally have said the SG but I just think that one is ugly as hell....

Me too. I don't care for the look of the Autumnburst SG, but it might be a great sounding/playing guitar. I love the SG Korina guitars I've seen at Wildwood. ( hint, hint)
