eeh1 Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 I have a 2001 Nick Lucas Reissue. Iam assuming this is sitka top with maple back and sides. I love this little dude. Anyone else have one with adirondack top or any other wood. What do you think of the little guy.
Modac Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 Here's mine....all the inlays are abalone, including the fretboard and headstock, and the top is sitka. ....it's the 2nd one I've owned, and the best sounding one I've come across. It's very lightweight, very loud, very dry and woody sounding----and not real brassy at all.
maninblack Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 I definitely dig my NL Elite. It is my "woodiest" sounding guitar by far. Very clear and dry. Vintage and dusty sounding. Records beautifully. Sounds like a much larger, older guitar on tape. I would not however bring it to a campfire sing-a-long. She just ain't that kind of guitar I'm supposed to take delivery of an Elvis Costello COP in the next 2 weeks. (We'll see if it happens...been on order since September). I am hoping it is different enough to justify keeping both it and the NL Elite.
onewilyfool Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 Maninblack......my Gibson L-20 is a Nick Lucas SIZE body also. Nice and deep box, AND it has the woodiest sound of all my guitars too. Just love it. Here are some pics.....that NL Elite looks cool and I have also gassed over that Elvis Costello.....you will have a nice addition to your 'stable'
