mikev
I have a gibson that my wife bought for me in 1966 used along with a gretch amp for the lofty sum of $100. I have been doing some research to identify it but I am confused. It looks a lot like a vintage SG200 except the body is not beveled. It has an inked SN of 956820 along with Made in the USA. Because the guitar was already used in 1966 I am thinking it was made in 1959 based on the serial number. But, the SG200 was not made until the early 70's. I am confused. I have a pretty good image but cannot figure out how to attach it!! mike

80LPC
The SG200 didn't have bevels. Maybe a Les Paul DC junior or special ?

mikev
Thanks for you reply 80LPC. I also thought it a 200 but I did not think they were made before 1971. I bought this one used in 1966. mv
80LPC
That's very strange - they were introduced in 1971 to replace the Melody Makers !
Edh S.
I feel your pain--I have one, too. No bevels, pups set in straight, cheap nylon saddles. This is truly the bottom step of the brand...

merciful-evans
Nice looking SG. I'd love to play one. Frets could use a polish maybe.
