:oilpit: Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 Ok, this place sucks right now, and this is my attempt at stimulating some MUSIC talk for a change. Duff bailed on Velvet Revolver and decided to contribute something to to world, while Slash swims in his money pit. they play a weird punk/grunge kinda thing with some GnR covers thrown in, I really dig it... Thoughts? Linkage...

cvansickle Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 I've heard it once, and that's one time too many. I like Guns, I like VR, but not Duff's Loaded.
Riffster Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 Mmmh, I don't know, it's ok. I am guessing you were not around for Guns and Roses in the late 80's/early 90's. I was not around for the Beatles and it is my favorite band, I never followed their solo work much. Not the same.

And at least everyone in the Beatles could sing. This stuff, it's just kind of boring. Like a lot of sidemen spin-offs this band has decent riffs but the vocals are really lacking. He's not the worst singer in the world but he lacks tone and power. It doesn't help that he's hiding behind effects too.

Alas I was not around, however, I am a pretty ridiculous fanboy... As for the VR still happening thing, I'm not sure, they might to one more album, but they were dropped by their record label. And Duff started this so he could get away from the stress of VR. Idk how much they really enjoy it...
