Gilliangirl
I just remembered another one that I bought a few years back but it was great...... Paul Barriere and Fred Tackett live at North cafe, or something like that. I'm going to run and make sure I have the name right but it's something like that. When I bought it, it stayed in the player for weeks! Update: Yup, that was it. Here's the link to Amazon. Give a listen to the samples. Unfortunately, the samples really don't do this album justice..... it's a great album. Paul Barrere and Fred Tackett - Live At North Cafe
Hall
Look at, gilliangirl's avatar. I have an acoustic/electric (or something) album from the 50ies by Tom and Jerry with those two exact guitars all over the cover. The, "Gibson" is blacked out. It has songs such as, "Raunchy, Rumble, Golden Wildwood Flower, etc". Uh, it's probably the last thing I ever bought, period!
Honky Dog
"Aerial Boundaries" by Michael Hedges. My vinyl version that I bought when it first came out was just too crappy after all these years.

dwolf
Grisman and Rice "Tone Poems" very nice. I also like Al Stewart Rhymes in Rooms. Duet with Peter White. Recently re-released. An excellent live album with some incredible guitar.
HellboundGreaser
I loath mainstream "Country" (and I use the term loosely) However Dwight Yoakam is miles apart from all that crap. He has done some stuff that I dont like but alot of it is pretty consistent. That Acoustic record is gold though.

I will admit it is starting to grow on me a bit. One country album I do really like is 'Whiskey for Breakfast' by Norman Blake. Holy Wars can be started over over musical preferences. Maybe a wicked thread could be started called 'What is last Acoustic Album you bought that really turned out to suck'? Believe me Dwight Yoakam would not make my A list on that. HellboundGreaser
Ah geeze, how could I leave the Asylum Street spankers out of an Acoustic album thread. This band's from Austin has been around for over a decade and the best way to describe them is that they're a bunch of musicans that you'd see on a porch jamming somewhere in Tennessee or maybe Oklahoma circa 1920. All acoustic and when they perform live, they use no amplification or Mic's. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000MV9OMC/ref=s9_sims_gw_s0_p74_i2?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=17FSZKMFDS1MWECH0KQN&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=470938631&pf_rd_i=507846

Aitch
I downloaded the Dwight Yoakam acoustic CD from Amazon a couple of days ago. I'm really not into country music, but I'm really starting to like this CD. Thanks for the heads-up on this one. :P
