stevezapp Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 I'm thinking of getting the Gibson logo tattooed on my inner wrist (see crude pic below). I have Zeppelin lyrics on my other forearm (not in the same position - longways), so I think it's be a nice balance. Whadda ya think? Should I?
Homz Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 No, get a guitar pic. I actually work with a guy named Gibson. Not everyone knows it is a guitar.

Homz Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Guitar pic; as in picture or plectrum? I meant as in an actual guitar, but a pic (plectrum) with the Gibson logo on it might fix the problem I mentioned in my last post. Might be cool.
wicked1 Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 If you love it, get it!!! Forget what Homz says! If I'd asked him first, I probably wouldn't have my ankle tat with the Zeppelin stuff. (But he's kind of a sissy when it comes to tats).

Sissy What Zeppelin stuff do you have around your ankle?
wicked1 Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 I have 3. Must not be to much the sissy. And how many do I have??? And who actually plans on getting more......?
Homz Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Here are pics of wicked1's ankle tat and my calf tat.
wicked1 Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Hehe. Sissy ;) What Zeppelin stuff do you have around your ankle? The front of my leg (over my foot) is the Swan Song logo. Then on the other 3 sides (so it makes an anklet) are 3 of the 4 logos from Zep 4. I don't have the 3-ring logo that is John Bonham's. Homz is busy posting a pic of it. I try to always pick something that represents something to me and this was my way of honoring my rock-n-roll heart. :)
Boston004681 Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 It honors your "Gibson Loyalty", but someday you won't want it there anymore.
stevezapp Posted April 26, 2009 Author Posted April 26, 2009 Here are pics of wicked1's ankle tat and my calf tat. Very nice ;) I have: - 'There's a feeling I get when I look to the west and my spirit is crying for leaving' in Zeppelin font going down my inner forearm. I'd love to show you guys, but I don't want anyone coming on here and copying it. I like the fact that no one else in the world (probably) has the same tattoo in the same place.

I always try to think of something that will be unique to me when I'm considering one. I've never gone in and just picked some flash off the wall. The most generic one I have left is my very first one and I still think it's hilarious, so I keep it. (A small tat on my hip that says "Ride Free").

I'll go down next Saturday. Besides, the other half wants a new one as well. Job lot.
RichCI Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 My opinion: If you're a big fan of Sony or Burger King, why not get their corporate logos tattooed on you as well?

[/quote'] I know you're being sarcastic, but why NOT? If it's something you identify with and you like your body art, then why not make it permanent? BTW, I can't vote because Homz voted and we share an IP address. Otherwise, I'd give you a YES, stevezapp.
RichCI Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 I was being only partially sarcastic. I don't have a lot of room to speak on this subject since I don't have any tattoos but I think putting some company's name on you is not original at all. Okay, it's Gibson which is pretty cool in a Jack Daniels, rock and roll kind of way but it's still a corporate brand.

It's not as bad as an Apple tattoo, for example ;)
wicked1 Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 I gotcha, Rich. It's not something I would do (though, I doubt anyone has gotten a Baldwin tat), but if he's thought about it for a while and still likes the idea....well, why not? Then again, I am the first one to rag on the sorority girls who got stupid tat just cause they thought it was what the "cool" girls do!

Homz Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Getting any tattoo is in the spirit of rebellion, so I suggest you do just the opposite of what the poll produces and give all us fuddy-duddys the finger on the way to the tattoo parlor.
