rar Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 For those of you who don't follow the UMGF, this thread mentions that AcousticMusic.org has placed scans of a bunch of old Gibson catalogs on its website here. (Warning: Due to an oddball copy protection scheme, you may have trouble reading these with anything other than a more-or-less up-to-date copy of Acrobat Reader -- some I could read using Preview, but some I had to download and open using AcroRead.) Fascinating stuff. Anyone know where I can find one of those Gibson Bass Banjos? -- Bob R
TWilson Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Nice site rar. I just enjoyed looking at the 1934 Epiphone catalogue. I can see where the Masterbilt series of today got the idea for their cool headstock design.
Jerry K Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Great stuff. I took a look at the '37 Gibson catalog and was surprised to see that the Nick Lucas model was only $90 and the Advanced Jumbo was $80, nowhere near the top of the line $400 Super 400.
larryp58 Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Really cool site! Ever wish you could go back in time with a pocket full of cashola!!!
