stakvoryan Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 I picked up a T185MX about 3 weeks ago and still cannot get over its playability, sound and visual beauty. Anyone else feeling me?
whiskywheels Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Doesn't surprise me at all. (See my comments on the ES339 thread). Favourable review of similar model here; http://www.musicradar.com/gear/all/guitars/electric/6-string-semi-acoustic/t184mx-136974/review
Svet Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 That doesn't surprise me either! I've got an 810ce and a 910 ce and they are just superb in all areas. I've played several of the John Pissano an El Ray guitars and they've all be an absolute joy. I've yet to try their thinlines but I can only imagine.
stakvoryan Posted May 3, 2009 Author Posted May 3, 2009 Wow, those are really pretty. About a month ago Freddie Cole (Nat's brother) came to town and his guitarist (Randy Napoleon, who sounded fantastoc by the way) was playing an Eastman archtop. He said he was really happy with his,. and his sound (just straight into a Twin) was incredibly clear and detailed. My 185mx was purchased to use for legitimate jazz gigs as well as r&b or fusion. It destroyed the Ibanez archtop I had been using and had bigger, clearer, smoother sound than the g&l asat semi-hollow deluxe as well. And with a set of D'Addarion 10's on it!
