sunburstfaded
I've seen Custom Shop SGs made from Korina. What is Korina and is it a good thing or a bad thing to have on a guitar?
BigKahune
it's similar to mahaogany. good tone wood. gibson has used it on quite a few models.

TinFish
Here's a brief article about it off Gibson's site. Pretty much tells you most of what you would want to know though: http://www.gibson.com/en-us/Lifestyle/Features/korinawoodmakesgreatguitar/

TinFish
No prob SBF. It's not a silly question, I was curious enough at some point to look it up too.
NeoConMan
I love Korina as much as the next guy, and I'm well aware of it's historical significance. Problem is, the cost/benefit analysis tells me I'll likely never own anything made of it due to its breath-taking cost. Okay, maybe a '58 V reissue... :-)
