I really wasn't into the hole "Star Wars" thing when I was younger. But my kids sure love it.

So which is your favorite?

Mine is Episode V when Luke goes to Dagobah to train with Master Jedi Yoda.

This is the episode where Luke discovers that Darth Vader, the Sith Lord, is in fact his father, Anakin Skywalker!

So what's your favorite Star Wars adventure?

Our son is a Star Wars freak, too. But he seems to enjoy the 'pre-quels' more than the originals. He pulls out "Attack of the Clones" every couple of weeks or so. I think my favorite is still Episode IV--the original Star Wars.

Definitely the first (released) 3! (Episodes: IV, V, VI) To much CGI, too little story, and over(bad)-acting, in the last ones (for me, anyway).

But, they're all fun, I guess, in their own ways.

I'm actually, more of an "Alien" fan...especially the first 2!

"Preditor" (The original one, with Awwwnold), was fun, too.

And, of course, "The Terminator" films, as well. LOL!

The Wrath of Khan...oh wait wrong series! The Empire Strikes Back is my favorite. My eight year old loves Star Wars too. We have a lot of fun watching them together. I may get older but I'll never grow up...

Yeah, I loved "Star Trek" original and "Next Generation," too. "Grew up" (well, sorta), watching

the originals...and rewatched them, in syndication, for years! Well...maybe I never DID "Grow up,"

after all?! LOL!...Who cares!

Speaking of fun (and nostalgic) "Sci-Fi"...picked up a couple, recently, that I LOVED, as a kid.

"Forbidden Planet," and the original "The Day The Earth Stood Still!" Awesome! ;>)

Empire is hands-down the best. Jedi was awesome except for the ewoks. I originally hated the new ones, but George Lucas laces all his movies with heroin. That's the only reason I can think of that would make me go to the theater to watch Episode 1, say I hate it and that I'll never see the other two, then buy Episode 1 on dvd, then buy the special edition, then see episode 2 and do the EXACT SAME THING. The third one made me fall asleep in the theater, so I bought that one too. I don't think I've made it through the whole thing awake yet. After revisiting episodes 1 and 2, I can honestly say that the story line is actually pretty good, once you get past the CG and he whose name will not be typed. If you've seen them, you know which gungan I'm talking about.

On a related note, if you like sci-fi, do yourself a favor and watch Firefly. The best way I can describe it is Star Wars, but with cowboys involved, and everyone is Han Solo.

Best description of Firefly I have ever heard! I'm not a huge fan of it, but I thought the movie Serenity was ok. If I'm gonna watch Whedon, I'm gonna go for something with blood-suckers in it!

Firefly was great, it was too bad it got cancelled after one season. I liked Serenity a lot too.

I think BSG set a new standard for sci-fi shows though. The 2nd and 3rd season were a little slow at times, but I think the 1st season was some of the best TV programming ever and the 4th season wasn't far behind.

I am still partial to TNG because I grew up with it and it offers a touch of nostalgia other sci-fi shows don't for me, but BSG was brilliant.

I agree on BSG, TinFish. Also, I was quite a fan of Babylon 5 back in the day. I think we've watched the entire series at least 3 times.

Don't even get me started on Battlestar, dude. In fact, I'm just going to go to bed so I don't expose the inner geek that I've held back for so long.

Who would have thought that a bunch of guitar players (who are supposed to be the cool guys) would be on an internet forum discussing the finer points of science fiction. Frak this noise, I'm goin' to bed.

I freely admit to being a geek/nerd/non-cool person! Be glad Homz isn't here! He used to make me watch 2 episodes of TNG every night before we went to sleep.

And might I also say, that one of the best episodes of *any* show that I've seen is one called "Blink" from Season 3 of the new Dr. Who. If you haven't seen it, you should. One of the most original stories I've seen and totally creepy!

I'm with you on that brother.

My sons and I even watch the Cartoon Network series The Clone Wars.

I was also a fan of the Next Generation.

Patrick Stewart was pardon the pun "stellar".

That was a big favorite of mine.

178 episodes over seven seasons, racking up 18 Emmy awards.

That was one classy show.

I display the DVD collection proudly on my "bookshelf".

I also own all of BSG(still waiting for 4.5 to come out)

And all nine seasons of The X-Files.

Going back to the original topic, I thought Episodes 2 & 3 were pretty decent other than some awkward moments between Anakin and Padmé. Episode one is pretty much unwatchable though.

Star Wars has always been my Entertainment. I remeber being 5 and my Grandma taking me and my Brother to see it an Manns Chinese Theater. We went again for Empire, but this time I was older and remeber seeing R2 and 3PO there, and putting my foot in John Waynes foot print.

The original Star Wars A New Hope will always been my favorite. The new one are great but not at all like the first 3. Age may have something to do with that.

As for Star Trek, I have TOS, TNG, and TAS all on DVD. Plus all the movies. Gene Roddenberry really knew how to entertain. I don't like anything that came out after he died, but I am looking forward to the Star Trek Prequal thats coming out.
