Rabs
Epiphone Coronet (USA Collection), Ebony | Epiphone $1599 First introduced in 1958, the Epiphone Coronet is one of Epiphone’s first and most successful original solid body electric guitar designs, and now it has come home to the USA! The latest Coronet is once again made in the USA and features the same symmetrical double cutaway mahogany body shape, three-on-a-side headstock shape, “Bikini” headstock badge, and pickguard shape as the earliest versions from 1958-1959, and includes a few modern improvements, including a slightly wider (1.695”) nut width and a comfortable SlimTaper™ neck profile, a slightly slimmer (1.375") body depth for better balance and lighter weight, a Graph Tech® nut, and a single P-90 Soapbar pickup. Original USA-made Coronets have been played by everyone from Jimi Hendrix and Steve Marriott to Johnny Marr and Marshall Crenshaw. Now, you can discover the magic of this no-frills rock machine for yourself. A hardshell case is included.
SteveFord
That's a lot of money for an inexpensive guitar. Maybe I'm just too cheap.
Phil OKeefe
The Coronet that is made in Asia is still available, too, and it's considerably less expensive. https://www.epiphone.com/en-US/p/Electric-Guitar/EPIUCC801/Cherry
Sgt. Pepper
Looks like Epi’s are approaching Gibson Studio prices.

She loves it and I thought it was a really nice guitar (it was between that and a red Tele). I have some backup P90s for when she gets better and starts to care about tone 😄 The pickups on there arent terrible but could be better. But for £350, a great guitar with a glued in neck and solid mahogany...

Well with her being the only other one in the family who has shown an interest in playing music theres no way I wasnt going to encourage her in every way I can. I am even currently paying for her guitar lessons as she is doing one of her school exams in music and needs more help than I can provide in the technical sense. Also at this stage in my life I very much doubt I will be having my own kids so its a pleasure to give her that opportunity.. The same one my mum gave me by forcing me to learn guitar when I was 11. Im not sure who I would be without music in my life. She may go down a different path but at least this gives her the option.

The Wilshire, along with the Casino, is an Epi I could definitely wrap my mind (and fingers) around. Gotta love P90s. Aren't they the greatest. You get to hang-out with them. Play with their toys. And when you get tired, you just give them back to their parents.

Back in the 60s the Coronet was the Epi equivilant to the LP/SG Jr so it’s cool that they have priced these ones in line with that rather than at some stupid collector price. Great guitars (though I am biased 😜) 1
Dub-T-123
This is a cool guitar. I love that they reissued the octagonal knobs. Inflation is really hitting hard. I used to think like $700 was fair for a lightly used American Standard Strat or Tele. Now you’re talking $1,600 for an Epi version of a Jr I really don’t expect these to fly off the shelves at this price but I’ve been wrong before. The Jr config with one p90 is pretty well established. I think we can all agree it’s a good thing. I think the majority of the player base is going to think something along the lines of “charge me $100 more and give me the double mini humbucker version” I love to see Epis made right alongside Gibsons like back in the day.. I just wish they gave us what we really want.. we don’t want ebony, we want silver fox. When I think of this guitar I want the batwing headstock and double mini hums but I get that this is an awesome guitar as well

One year ago an Epiphone 59 IBG Les Paul had a msrp of $849, around summer they increased to $999. A few months ago they increased the msrp to $1299. That's over a 33% hike in 1 year. Will it ever stabilize? 1

The year before I got her an acoustic... Just so that she could get started and see if it was something she wanted to pursue. It was funny. I remember when I took my niece home with her Wilshire, my sister was like so what do we do with the acoustic guitar, sell it? Haha, the very idea that a guitarist has more than one was so alien to her. Also my niece has great taste in music so far. Some of her favorites are Queen, Nirvana, David Bowie and Ozzy Osbourne.. Thats a pretty good start (but she also loves Taylor Swift too). But that variety in taste gives me hope she has the music bug.
merciful-evans
Very nice. I like everything about it except the pickup position. Maybe if they make a Wilshire like that... 1

Looks like this one (below) came out last year - now that in Polaris White and made in USA at around $2k would probably see me sell my 69 single min HB version and make the purchase 1

I found this husk on eBay and it was $400 and I couldn't resist. When I got it I wet sanded with 2000 grit , polished and added the parts and boom.... a kickass Epi.
