David Riggs
Hi All! New here, and I've got a puzzler for you. I recently made a deal which included an inop SG System amp. The rear control plate states that it is an SG-215 but the literature Gibson sent me includes a spec sheet that says the SG-215 is all solid state. The problem is that there is a 12AX7 PI and two great hunkin' 8417 output tubes! The spec sheet indicates that the only model which uses those tubes and has a master volume is the SG-200. So I asked for the SG-200 schematic and they sent it straight away (Aren't these folks great?) but it seems to have six power tetrodes! :- Can anybody shed some light on the subject for me? Thanks, Dave
