BradleyScott
I have noticed that some time after when Cesar took over, approximately 2019, SGs have rounded tips on the top horn. I have been collecting .jpgs of SGs for around fifteen years. I have exactly 1,124 photos of SGs. Anything that I thought looked interesting or just a well taken photo was downloaded. Looking through these pictures confirms that vintage to new guitars before around 2019 all have tips that come to a point or sharper edge. Going to stores lately looking at new SGs, because of some of the cool new finishes, like the TV yellow, for example, I am finding the top horn is always rounded over instead of coming to a point like the botton horn, unless they are used and older guitars. Even the bottom horns are looking a touch more rounded. Looking at photos on Sweetwater, I am finding the same. It's not the photo angle, because the examples in the store are the same. When I look through Reverb, Guitar Center and Ebay, I find the guitars starting around 2019 all have this ugly rounded top horn tip. It is my guess that in trying to accentuate the inner curve that connects the top horn tip to the fingerboard, the diameter has been programed badly and this necessatates rounding the top horn to meet the top tip carve angle. I think it looks terrible. It throws off the whole aesthetic beauty of the model. If there is some other reason, I would geniunely love to know what it is, because is searching for new SGs, I am finding it impossible to find one without this rounded tip, that can be as much as the diameter of around a nickel or dime. If this is just an oversight that has somehow gotten past being noticed by everyone else, please Gibson, correct this design change.
