Bob1034
I've sat on this guitar for over a month without changing the strings or removing the pickguard film just in case I wasn't sure I wanted to keep it. Over the last 2 days I've played the holy hell out of it and decided, yep. I'm keeping it! After deciding, I finally felt comfortable putting it on the bench to restring, condition the fretboard, poke around...etc., and find this. My question is, is this going to get worse? It's ugly if I run without a pickguard, but I'm in the pickguard on, camp, so that isn't as big a deal to me. What I don't want is a giant flap of nitro peeling off. If it isn't going to get worse, I think I'm inclined to keep it, but I'm not at all familiar with nitro other than it wears pretty fast. Will this continue to peel up? I still have about 8 days to decide if I'm sending it back and trying another one, but the top on this is pretty nice. https://i.ibb.co/ZLd389q/IMG-8365.jpg
NighthawkChris
Yikes… it’s not going to get any better, that’s for sure… it’s tough to say but if that were my purchase, I’d try again - especially since you paid “Gibson” money for that one. Really sucks, but better you find out now than later.
