WTB: Dobro or National

Recommended Posts

  • 8 months later...

I have a 1989 Dobro "shield" model, Hand engraved, round neck. It was one of the last made in Calif by the Dobro brothers, and was their top of the line model. It's beautiful, absolutely clean. Shiny chrome plated brass. The sound is so cool for blues.

This model is so rare that there isn't any price history. Forty-five hundred, plus shipping.

Despite looking alike, Nationals and Dobros are different guitars with different sound. They look alike, but the cones and bridge set-ups are very different. Check out the National Resophonic website if you want a newly made instrument.
