mannilown
Hello there- I am new to the Gibson forum, but definitely not new to Gibson's... however- can anyone offer up any info on the "Authentic" series acoustic Gibson's? Is there a difference between these & the True Vintage? Thanks! ~ mannilown
Modac
The "Authentic" series, as far as I know, is Martin's. Gibson makes 2 models in their "Legend" series (J45 and L-00), which is their version of Martin's "Authentic" series. The "True Vintage" series is more closely akin to Martin's "V" or "Golden Era" series, depending upon the top woods.
J-200 Koa
Are you referring to the "Historic Series" that came out in 2005? There have also been limited runs of "1960's Authentics" with the bright cherry red sunburst and Kluson tuners. Neither of these are True Vintage models. The current True Vintage model has an aging toner added to the finish and a special brown case with pink lining.
Jayla
I have a hard time keeping up with all of Gibsons' series. Is there really an "authentic," in addition to the Legend, MC, TV, TVOS, etc.??? I can barely keep a handle on the others!
Layla
I have a hard time keeping up with all of Gibsons' series. Is there really an "authentic' date='" in addition to the Legend, MC, TV, TVOS, etc.??? I can barely keep a handle on the others![/quote'] Not only that , but the Hummingbird "Authentic Series", if I'm not mistaken came in short & long scale depending on the year of that run. Gibson, does a fine job keeping us on are toes.
