Imagine pulling up next to a Ferrari at a stop light, then blowing that car off the road!

The Tesla Plaid will hit 60 in 1.9 seconds!

I live just south of Austin Texas and I see a lot of Teslas. I will say that the truck is starting to grow on me. It's so odd that it's cool.

Ceptorman,

I don't care if it can outrun an SR-71 Blackbird.

It is still as ugly a vehicle as I've ever seen.

Yeah…..that’s true…..but I think he is mature enough NOT to try that!

In Palm Springs I’ve seen a few with wild Custom Paint jobs.

He wants to get it wrapped in gold.    He already has his grandfather’s 1968 Lincoln Continental….it’s gold, and he wants it to have the license plate “GOLDIE” (in some form since that’s what my F-I-L named it), and the license for his truck to be, “GOLDIEV”.

I'm sure it would outrun a Blackbird in a short run, quarter mile maybe.

It does depend on the model, the hi horsepower model is The Beast, around 800 HP. I saw a used 24 model that was $164k, not sure what they are new.

I don't care about Elon Musk's politics, I just think he looks an embryo and if he sat down next to me at a park bench I'd get up and move.

I've always been rooting for electric vehicles but they have their share of problems (like corrosion causing them to burst into flames and the cost of battery replacement).  Then there's the charging problems where your choices are currently limited.

Eventually, they'll solve the problems but the whole technology is still in it's infancy.

IF I were a multi-millionaire,
and,
IF I never had to drive anywhere but across town or to the market,
and,
IF some company made an EV that I found attractive,

I would still very likely drive gasoline powered cars and motorcycles.

I do enjoy my electric yard care appliances, really I do.
They are quiet and convenient.

But for my main conveyance?
And driving for pleasure?

I gotta burn dinosaurs.
I'm just old school that way.

🙂

It's here....you don't have to like it or even read it.   (but it's still funny!)

It's here, and like some of the others that post this kind of drivel you won't get called on it, that's why non-moderators are and will continue to call you on it.

My company produces EV's..... your tax dollars pay 80% of their cost, which is about $1M per bus, then they also get 80% of the cost for infrastructure, (charging stations, and garage fire suppression systems because these buses have been known to burst into flames).

Sometimes bus properties can get a grant to cover 100% of the cos, including the infrastructure cost.

Because there is not enough electricity available in many (most) places, the industry is moving toward Hydrogen Fuel Cell buses, (we've already started making them), which are little bombs if not properly maintained.

I agree.... I find them good if you're out for fun or whatever....but not practical for your only vehicle.

I'm only well versed in transit buses, and since they're partially funded by our taxes, (80% from the Federal Government), and they're REQUIRED to provide emergency service in case of disasters....and EV's will be worthless to move people out of disaster areas.
