This is for all you guys/girls (didn’t leave them out) who didn’t get one or can’t afford one.

Why you seem fit to troll around here when you could be tucked in nice and smug on a Martin site is beyond me. Better yet; start your own blog and see how many acolytes you would attract there. Please.

Cause I’ve been a member here since 2013 I believe. I’ve even owned lots of Gibson’s. I can post pics cause ya know the unwritten rule. Lots of members comments make me laugh. If I’m breaking the rules of the forum, which “I” have actually read report me to a mod. I don’t believe there is a rule stating I must like Gibson guitars to be a member. If so, tell me which number it is. If not I’ll stick around. I posted the video, so you guys could watch the JP guitar being shown off. If ya got one post it. I would like to see one. I’d even play it if it was in a store to try, but you know those were sold to collectors before they shipped. It is cool Jimmy apparently played each one of the sig ones. Who gets to say that about their guitar?

I’ll tell you what I tell my wife. Don’t tell me what to do, I’m a 58 year old adult. I may not act it but I am.

The haze that covers this model doesn't seem to lift - and maybe (good decent) Paul knows it. Are there traces of double-expression in his face.

Lesson/listen :

The 1964 guitar, which this new release is supposed to echo, was originally owned by producer Mickey Most, who lent his Jumbo out to more people than the Led-Zep-man. Page did not own a J-200 until much later, where he purchased a similar looking 200, which another member here claims is from 1965.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  The one seen on the previous, , , eeeeh page. .

Ergo -

The new replica model shoots between 2 actually existing Super Jumbos - and hopefully hits the overall quality of that Kalamazoo era, , , , yet while yelling Page and 64 although that relation in reality was short, , ,

                                                                                             and yes okay, sweet. .

PAGE 3 in this 4 year old thread also touches the subject. We even get details from the member who played the Most-Jumb.

Zomb - if you feel like re-posting this like the other retro-one I sat up, feel free !

The 2 JP’s they had at Music Villa are SOLD OUT. Not sure why they are on the website if you can’t buy them? Can’t an IT guy/girl put something in the logarithm to take it down once sold so it doesn’t taunt you a second time?

Yes - recall bein' impressed when reading it back then - still am.  📣 < Jinder - we need to hear the story again !

Didn't know the one now copied and out as a signature was a 65er. Sure hope is has the wide width, , , or at least they broadened the new ones.

Yep I recorded with the Page/Most SJ200 when I was at RAK (the studio that the late Mickie Most founded) back in 2008.

Natalie Hayes, Mickie’s daughter, was at the studio at various times whilst my band and I were there for a few days of sessions. At one point we were trying to find an acoustic tone that myself and our producer had in mind (something boomy but with a sort of washy, percussive top end) for a rhythm part. None of my guitars were quite right, and we were a little stumped.

I suggested we take a ride to Gibson HQ in Rathbone Place to try out some more stuff and borrow something (we had an artist deal with Gibson at the time), but then Natalie walked in with a guitar case in her hand and said “before you go, try this-it was my Dad’s, and he put it in the hands of pretty much everyone who recorded here. Donovan and Jimmy Page loved it in particular-Jimmy used it on loads of Zeppelin stuff, it’s what you hear on the intro to Stairway To Heaven”

She was super nonchalant about it but I felt like my head was about to explode…it was the one in the link earlier with no pickguard. It sounded unreal, just sensational. Even with the weight of history and expectation weighing against it, it was still jawdropping.

I used it on the track and stayed up until the early hours writing with it. The recording is still in the can somewhere and I’ve been working on finding the masters for ages, our producer sent me what he thought was the mix but it was an earlier demo of the song. If I can find it, I’ll post it.

As a reminder for members who haven't been here for 11 years -  my recollection is, as far as Gibson ACOUSTICS (this sub-forum and topic/thread),   you've only owned one (a J35?) for a month or so in your 58 years.    So, while there isn't a 'rule' stating you have to 'like'  Gibson guitars to be a member,  most here think it helps.

Nope it was a J-15, 2014 model I believe. I also had 4 LP’s, 4 SG’s, a BB King, a The Paul one of those Firebrands I think, an ES-335, and an Explorer.

Dude I used to love Gibson Guitars.

I think I mentioned the other day I played  a M L H’Bird and a H’Bird STD. Sounded pretty good as I always liked the big Gibson dreads over the slopes. Then I saw a Martin 00-18. Used to own one. Strummed it and I said to myself, that’s the sound I prefer. It was a 180 difference from the Gibson thump as you guys call it. I may like Butter Pecan ice cream and you may be a Mint Chocolate Chip guy. No big deal we are allowed to disagree unless Capitol Hill has taken that right away from us.

The best part for Music Villa. They pretty much have access to anything at Gibson at anytime.   That store has some pretty amazing guitars they have sold many hiend Gibsons

I thought Slash had access to everything? He saved the company.

Me playing a few guitars in a shop?

He was talking about playing Mickey's guitar. But he was mostly known for his slide work with string bending on his earlier albums. You need to read more good.

Mickey was such an innovator. Is he in a Hawaiian Slack Tuning?

It's still a great story and I really enjoy reading it - imagining the sequence. Would be fantastic to find those tapes, , , as you (probably know) they are about to become some really spezial in the international realm of acoustic guitars.

2 Qs. : Which guitars from your herd didn't seem to fit the particular task ?

And (as mentioned already in the 4 year old thread) - are you sure the Stairway-intro wasn't done on the legendary  Harmony H 1260 Sovereign.                                                                                         Admit not knowing, but there tend to be a consensus about that.

Don’t accuse me of saving them. Every Gibson I bought was second hand. So I gave them $0 in profit. Henry did his best to try to sink them.

Page used a Harmony Sovereign H1260 acoustic guitar and a Fender Electric XII 12-string electric guitar played directly into the board for the rhythm parts.

Once again from the net, so take it with a grain of salt.

Both the 6 and 12 string versions of the Sovereign H1260 were all over the place during the 1960s.  The Stones and the Who among others surely relied on them.

The only time I saw Page and Zep though was in 1969.   I swear I recall him playing a Dan Electro for" White Summer/Black Mountain Side."

I wasn’t there so I’ll take your word on that.
